Foster Carer Grief
Maybe everyone won’t agree with my little heading on here but let me just explain,
You welcome a child into your care, you build a bond with that child even if they aren’t there for all that long, they become part of your family part of day to day life, you see them laugh, you see them cry, you witness their achievements, you do all this knowing that one day they could or will be leaving your home & there’s a chance you might not ever see them again…..
If you didn’t grow attached to these kids who come into your home you wouldn’t be human it’s natural
Just like it’s natural when they leave, they leave a void and a empty space,,
It’s like a grieving process
But you know you could get a call that same night informing you that another child needs to be welcoming into your home….and you do it
I feel there needs to be support for carers when children leave,,,,
You have to smile and wave as the child leaves but inside your broken
